Job Description:
Nutrix Medical is looking for a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse with a specialization in Endoscopy to join our team at a private hospital in Northampton. This role is ideal for a nurse who is passionate about patient care and has experience in the endoscopy suite. You will work alongside a dedicated team of healthcare professionals to provide high-quality care to patients undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures.
Key Responsibilities:

Patient Care:
- Prepare patients for endoscopic procedures, ensuring they are informed and comfortable.
- Provide post-procedural care, including monitoring patients' recovery and offering aftercare advice.
- Administer sedation and assist the medical team during endoscopy procedures, ensuring patient safety at all times.

Clinical Expertise:
- Set up and prepare the endoscopy room, including sterilizing instruments and equipment.
- Assist with the handling and processing of biopsy samples and other specimens.
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient care, procedures, and any adverse events.

Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with gastroenterologists, anaesthetists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a seamless patient experience.

Compliance and Safety:
- Adhere to infection control policies, ensuring a sterile and safe environment in the endoscopy suite.
- Comply with all hospital protocols and regulatory standards, including those related to patient confidentiality and data protection.
- Participate in audits and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
Qualifications and Experience:
- NMC Registration: Must be a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
- Experience: Previous experience in endoscopy nursing is highly preferred. Knowledge of endoscopic procedures and related patient care is essential.
- Clinical Skills: Proficiency in IV cannulation, administration of sedation, and post-procedural care.
- Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centered approach to care.
- Teamwork: Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
