Position: Children's Complex Carer
Location: Norfolk, UK
Hourly Rate: £18–£20 per hour
Shifts: Days & Nights

About the Role

We are looking for compassionate and skilled Children's Complex Carers to support children with complex medical and care needs in the Norfolk area. This rewarding role involves providing personalized care that enhances the quality of life for children and their families. You will be part of a dedicated team ensuring the highest standards of care are delivered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one, person-centered care to children with complex health conditions.
  • Administer medication, feeds, and treatments as outlined in individualized care plans.
  • Use specialist equipment such as ventilators, suction machines, or feeding tubes, following training and protocols.
  • Monitor the child’s condition and promptly report any changes to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
  • Deliver emotional support and reassurance to children and their families.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including healthcare professionals and family members, to ensure consistent care.
  • Assist with daily living activities, ensuring the child’s comfort, safety, and dignity.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of care provided.

Requirements

  • Experience: Previous experience in complex care or working with children with medical needs is essential.
  • Skills:
  • Ability to perform clinical tasks such as tracheostomy care, PEG feeding, or seizure management (training can be provided for specific tasks).
  • Excellent observational skills to identify changes in condition.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially with children and families.
  • Attributes: Compassionate, reliable, and adaptable, with a passion for making a difference in children’s lives.
  • Additional Requirements:
  • Relevant healthcare qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent).
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including days, nights, and weekends.
