Job Title: School Support Worker

Location: Harrow

Working Hours: 4 days a week, 8:45 AM - 3:30 PM (School time), with a 30-minute break

Salary: £16-£20 per hour

Job Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Support Worker to join our team in Harrow. The successful candidate will provide essential support to students, teachers, and the overall school environment. This role is pivotal in ensuring that every student receives the help they need to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. The position is part-time, working 4 days a week during school hours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Student Support:

    • Assist students with their academic tasks and help them understand lesson content.
    • Provide one-on-one support to students with special educational needs (SEN).
    • Support students in developing social skills and managing their behavior.
  • Classroom Assistance:

    • Assist teachers with classroom management and organization.
    • Help prepare teaching materials and resources.
    • Supervise students during classroom activities, ensuring a safe and conducive learning environment.
  • Administrative Duties:

    • Maintain accurate records of student progress and behavior.
    • Assist with the preparation of reports and documentation as required.
    • Support administrative tasks related to school events and activities.
  • General Duties:

    • Supervise students during break and lunch times.
    • Provide first aid when necessary (training can be provided).
    • Ensure the school's policies and procedures are followed at all times.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Previous experience working with children in an educational setting is desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other staff members.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children's development.
  • Basic understanding of child development and learning strategies.
  • Ability to manage and respond to challenging behavior effectively.
