Job Title: Complex Care Carer

Coyle Homecare is seeking Complex Care Carers in Gloucester who have extensive experience working with individuals, particularly children, requiring tracheostomy care, BiPAP/CPAP ventilation support, and other complex medical needs. You will provide highly skilled care to individuals with conditions such as neurological disorders, acquired brain injuries, spinal injuries, and respiratory conditions, ensuring they live as independently and comfortably as possible.
As a Complex Care Carer, you will work closely with our clinical teams to provide tailored care plans for service users, ensuring their health and well-being are maintained in a safe and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialist care for children with complex needs, including tracheostomy care, BiPAP/CPAP ventilation, and other respiratory support.
- Assist with personal care, such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility support.
- Monitor and manage complex medical conditions, administering prescribed medication and following care plans.
- Use specialized equipment such as hoists, ventilators, and other assistive devices to support service users.
- Perform clinical tasks such as wound care, suctioning, and supporting respiratory function (training will be provided as needed).
- Build strong relationships with service users and their families, offering support, compassion, and understanding.
- Document any changes in the service user's condition and communicate with healthcare professionals as needed.
- Work as part of a team to ensure continuity of care and a high standard of service.
Requirements:
- Extensive Experience: Experience working with children and/or adults who require tracheostomy care, BiPAP/CPAP, and other complex medical needs.
- Relevant Training/Certifications: Trained in tracheostomy care and ventilator management (or willing to undergo specific training if required).
- Experience with Pediatric Care: Experience caring for children with complex needs is essential.
- Compassion and Empathy: A genuine passion for providing care and making a difference in the lives of those with complex medical conditions.
- Strong Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with service users, families, and healthcare professionals.
- DBS Check: Enhanced DBS check (Coyle Homecare will support this process).
- Flexible and Reliable: Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights and weekends as required.
