Job Description: Nursery Room Leader (Full-Time)
Location: Camden, London
Hours: Full-Time (9-3:30 term time)
Overview:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Nursery Room Leader to join our vibrant team in Camden. As a Room Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of your designated room, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children to thrive. You will lead a team of practitioners, ensuring high standards of care and education are maintained, and fostering strong relationships with children, parents, and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Management:
- Lead and manage the team within your room, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to staff.
- Ensure all staff understand and adhere to the nursery’s policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular team meetings and individual performance reviews.
- Child Development:
- Plan, implement, and evaluate age-appropriate activities and learning experiences in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
- Monitor and assess children's progress, maintaining accurate records and identifying any areas for additional support.
- Promote positive relationships with children, creating a warm, inclusive, and supportive atmosphere.
- Health and Safety:
- Ensure the health, safety, and welfare of all children in the room, conducting regular risk assessments and maintaining a clean and safe environment.
- Administer first aid and medication as required, following appropriate protocols.
- Parent Engagement:
- Build strong relationships with parents and carers, providing regular feedback on their child’s development and addressing any concerns.
- Organize and participate in parent evenings and other nursery events.
- Administrative Duties:
- Manage staff rotas, ensuring adequate coverage in the room at all times.
- Keep up-to-date with industry developments and best practices, attending training sessions as necessary.
Requirements:
- Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a nursery setting, with at least one year in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework and child development principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Organizational skills and the ability to manage a busy environment effectively.
